A pop-up restaurant that will encourage diners to eat in the nude is set to launch in London this summer.

The Bunyadi will be split into clothed and unclothed sections, with diners asked to enter a changing room and remove all but a provided gown which they can then choose to wear or take off during the rest of the meal.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Seb Lyall and the teams behind last year’s Owl bar and Breaking Bad themed pop-up ABQ.

The location and duration of the pop-up, which starts in June, has not yet been disclosed but the organisers claim to already have a waiting list of several thousand people.

The idea behind the concept is to create a restaurant that is “free from the trappings of modern life”, using “only the most natural home-grown ingredients to envelope its patrons in a Pangea-like world free from phones, electric lights and even clothing”.

Food on offer will include wood-grilled meats served on handmade clay crockery to be eaten with edible cutlery.

Lyall said: “We believe people should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities: no chemicals, no artificial colours, no electricity, no gas, no phone and even no clothes if they wish to. The idea is to experience true liberation.”
